Just few days to the 2017 General and Presidential Elections, Camp for Peace Liberia has intensified and deepened its nonviolence and direct action campaign across Montserrado and Margibi Counties. Yesterday was a great scene of performance when a motivational cultural group sponsored by Camp for Peace Liberia stirred the popular Commercial District of Red Light. Due to the multiplicity of people from all walks of life, and the frequent occurrences of violence in the past, compelled Team Camp to concentrate on this area.
The campaign was meant to concioustize voters, especially the youth population on their roles and responsibilities to their country.
Through art and dance and singing, the youth were informed not to allow political criminals who sole intention is to once again turn this country into battle ground of conflict, to steal their national and inherited pride this time by sending them into the streets during and after the electoral periods. Camp for Peace Liberia believes that nonviolence and smart voting are the twin keys to meaningful change. The campaign also encouraged the youth to vote wisely and to remain consistently tolerance and exhibit every rule and respect the outcome of the National Elections Commission.
