Several schools in Rural Liberia have benefited from the distribution of Camp for Peace Liberia Rumie Educational digital tools.  The distribution was done in Zorzor and Salayea Districts in, Lofa County.  The Zorzor Central High School, the Zorzor Islamic Heritage Elementary and Junior High School and  the Lutheran Training Institute were among the many schools that benefited from the first phase of Camp for Peace Liberia donation.

Donating the tablets on behalf of his organization, the Executive Director of Camp for Peace Liberia, Mr. B. Abel IMG_20170516_133804Learwellie reiterated his organization willingness to compliment government effort by exploring possible solution aims at helping to alleviate some of the challenges faced by the Liberian School System, especially schools in the rural parts of the country.  Mr. Learwellie stressed that education is the bedrock for the social, economic and political development of Liberia.  He lamented that no matter your status in society, we all have a part to play in the social and economic development of our country, adding that the government alone cannot do all, considering the numerous challenges facing our country. Mr. Learwellie said the tablets will be placed at the school as a mini resource center where both teachers and students can go to do research, assignment and lesson plan.  He concluded by thanking the Rumie Initiative and all partners and friends across the United States and Canada for this life changing gift.

For their part, the administrators and faculty of the Zorzor Central High School extolled Camp for Peace Liberia for IMG_20170516_133447the donation.  Speaking in separate remark, the principle of the Zorzor Central High School, Mr. Nyanti Toe underscored that CFP is one of the few organizations who have taken the challenge to drive the rough road to reach them in their quest for educational materials.  He said, not much is heard of education by many organizations when donating items to the communities.  He further appealed to CFP management, friends and supporters to continue to think about them whenever there is future consignment of these educational instruments.

The Rumie tablet is a potable educational device that is commonly known as “Carry the Library” that contains all the core subjects including Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, English Grammar and Literature, General Science, Geography, etc. It also has a visual presentation of all these subjects with self-instruction that can be used even beyond the classroom.
