Camp for Peace Liberia in partnership with ECOWAS Emergency Response Mechanism with support from thePicture1 European Union has climaxed one day reconciliation soccer tournament in Kakata, Margibi County as part of their awareness campaign with the youth to raise voice for peace and reconciliation in post-election Liberia. The tournament which brought together (3) high schools in Kakata provided a platform for the youth to share and interact in the spirit of reconciliation and unity.  The Lango Lippaye High School defeated KRTTI Demonstration and St. Paul’s Lutheran High School to clinch the prize as a first place winner while Demonstration took the second place prize.

A formal closing exercise of the tournament was held immediately following the close of the match.  Making special picture2remarks, the principals of the (3) schools extended thanks and appreciation to Camp for Peace Liberia and its partners for the initiative.  They stated that there can be no development in Liberia without peace and reconciliation.  They also used the occasion to caution the students to be law-abiding and tolerance in their day-to-day interaction.

 

 

For his, the Executive Director of Camp for Peace Liberia, Mr. B. Abel Learwellie lauded the participating teams forpicture3 their participation.  He stressed the importance of unity and reconciliation as key drivers for national development.  He said Liberia is in traction and it is predicated on every Liberian to maintain and sustain the peace.

Camp for Peace Liberia has implemented various activities geared toward peace, tolerance, reconciliation and forgiveness and continues to spend time, effort, and resources to spread awareness and bring a positive change in the Liberian society.
